Great to dive the house reef and explore the small wreck near Felivaru Reef. it as an artificial reef with a depth range from 5m to 23m, it is also suitable for beginner divers. You can find jacks on the uppermost deck and schools of batfish swimming into the current. Also huge groupers and sweetlips at the bow and gigantic reef lobsters hiding beneath. The night dive on the wreck is extraordinary with all its shrimps, nudibranchs and critters hiding in the pipes and gaps.

Felivaru Kandu is a coral reef and quite large sandy channel in Maldives, which varies from 5m/16ft at the corners to 30m/98ft on the channel edge dropping away. An old, coral covered anchor can be also found near. If the current is very strong (>2 knots), it can be hard work finning against the current, but the site worth the efforts. Among marine species eagle rays, big game fish, barracuda, stingrays, grey reef sharks can be seen inside the channel.

While crossing this dive site from one corner to the other, look in the sandy areas for stingrays and check above you for eagle rays flying in formation. The occasional white-tip and grey reef shark can be spotted swimming along the channel edge. As you approach the corners of the channel you have the chance to see schools of snappers and brightly coloured triggerfish.

    Average: 5 m
    Maximum: 30 m
    Current
    Strong ( > 2 knots)
    Visibility
    Average: 15 m
    Maximum: 30 m
The Noonu Atoll offers diving for all levels of experience but is better suited to intermediate divers. Beginners will have the opportunity to progress and experience the thrill of challenging drift dives. Located on the outer reef of the atoll’s southern tip is the Raafushi dive – suitable for all levels. The top of the reef is 10-15 feet (3-5 meters) deep and drops off to 39-46 feet (12-14 meters). Expect nudibranchs and red toothed triggerfish with their distinctive red teeth that look like incisors. As you navigate the reef’s long crack, you might see a nocturnal nurse shark having a snooze.
The atoll's big attraction is the grey reef sharks but also expect leopard sharks and guitar sharks – the guitar’s neck is the shark, and the guitar’s body is the ray.

You will also see stingrays, spotted eagle rays, barracuda, jackfish, morays, schooling blue-striped snapper, and turtles.

The table corals can be substantial, and you’ll find oriental sweet lips and pufferfish around them. Iridescent mantis shrimps shyly emerge from holes, and nudibranchs splatter the reefs with vibrant colors.
  • 10:00

    Manadhoo Corner

    SUITABLE FOR:: Intermediate level
DEPTH:: 5m at the corners, dropping away to 30m and beyond, maximum dive depth 30m
EXPECT TO SEE:: Eagle rays, stingrays, sharks, snappers, and triggerfish
Intermediate divers can head to the Christmas Rock. This dive’s moniker comes from its circular-shaped thila (submerged island). Its highest point is found at a depth of 46 feet (14 meters). As you navigate the rock, you might see whitetip reef sharks - it's as though their dorsal fins have been sprinkled with snow. Look out for stingrays resting in the overhangs. This diving point attracts whale sharks and mantas and divers shall jump further away from where it was calm. The reef is not exploited, and it is very rich, especially when there is no outer reef in the atoll. Waves and current ensures the flow of clear water making the visibility good while nourishing the corals.
  • 15:00

    Mas Thila

Orimas Thila offers a deeper dive for advanced divers. The thila is found at 46 feet (14 meters) and drops off to 98 feet (30 meters). The dive’s highlight is the grey reef sharks. These predators can be found in groups of up to twenty, and the thila also functions as a nursery. Expect to see larger females protecting their juveniles. Rays, leopard and guitar sharks may also be about.
    SUITABLE FOR:
    Advanced level
    DEPTH:
14m, dropping to 30m and beyond, maximum dive depth 30m
    EXPECT TO SEE:
Grey reef, leopard and guitar sharks, rays, barracuda, jackfish, eagle rays and stingrays
Dozens of sharks, rays, schools of barracuda and jacks help make Orimas or Mas Thila is a fantastic big fish dive. Acting as a nursery and cleaning station for grey reef sharks, this underwater mound will often attract these fish in large numbers that take advantage of the ocean currents and warm waters. Other species of sharks such as leopard and guitar sharks are also commonly seen on the thila, where eagle rays and stingrays also are frequently found. With the site doubling as a nursery, many of the sharks seen are juveniles protected by a small number of often very large females. Orimas is a big hit with rebreather divers who find the sharks come VERY close when the bubbles stop flowing.
Day 6 : More Noonu Atoll

  • 06:00

    Miyaru Vani or Shark Point

What's happening here may be dramatic a bit too much, yes this is a really great dive for shark enthusiasts. Crowds and schools of grey sharks and eagle rays, stingrays, turtles, schools of jackfish and bat fish, it's all there and it's far away from the crowds. Fantastic!
  • 10:00

    Thanburudhoo Kandu

Many species of sharks and big fish happen to roam this channel and must drift with them to enjoy this dive.
  • 15:00

    Thanburudhoo Wall

This wall dive starts on an outer atoll wall before diver’s hook into the reef at the channel mouth watching the passing sharks and pelagic fish. However, the highlight of the dive is the channel, as it is colored by some of the prettiest soft corals you will see in the Maldives and is also home to countless fish.
Day 7 : Raa Atoll

  • 06:00

    Kottey Corner

Also known as Yellow Pink corner, named for the abundant yellow clathria soft coral and pink hydrocoral that blankets the reef wall and the many overhangs that punctuate the wall as it descends from 2 to 28 meters, Yellow Pink Corner is a colorful site where you can find nudibranchs, lots of anemones, and an incredible array of fish, some of which operate cleaning stations for larger species. Suitable for intermediate divers and up, the site is ideal for underwater photography.
  • 10:00

    Anemone City

Highlights: schooling fish & big pelagic fish.
Diving environment: caverns, beginner and advanced divers, off the beaten track...
Look out for stingrays and Napoleon wrasse lurking on the sandy ledge below the largest overhang. After inspecting this overhang, divers usually proceed to a sloping reef with plenty of hard corals, sea whips and fish life. Expect to see butterflyfish, parrotfish, bannerfish and lots of fusiliers, unicornfish, and surgeonfish all around you, including red fire gobies, as well as shrimp and goby partnerships and mantis shrimps. There are plenty of large table corals, swarms of fairy basslets, hunting jacks, tuna, and blue-dash fusiliers. There can be quite a strong current here so you may find, particularly over the top of the giri, that it is a good time to use a reef hook and just relax and watch the goings-on.
  • 15:00

    Seven Blocks or Reethi Thila

Reethi Thila represents a dive that is typical of the Maldives, a submerged pinnacle with plenty of caverns and overhangs and with a stunning amount of fish. What is noteworthy is the volume and variety of fish life; enough to stretch even the most ardent fish identification enthusiast. By way of example, here is a brief list of some of the wrasses that you are likely to encounter on this dive site: African, Ringed, Reindeer, Lemon Meringue, Speckled, Blue-streak Cleaner, Bird, Six-bar, Half-and-half. A similar list could be compiled for angelfish, surgeonfish, and triggerfish, such is the sheer quantity of fish and the species variety at this spot and this scuba diving area of the Maldives generally. You can also enjoy some downtime in the sandy areas of the reef flat where you should look out for mantis shrimp, nudibranchs and even some playful octopi.

Hanifaru Bay in Baa Atoll, Maldives, is famous for being a nursery ground for grey sharks, and stingrays. It is also one of the very few places in the world where whale sharks congregate to mate. However, it is best known for its concentration of the enigmatic, graceful, inquisitive and charismatic reef manta rays. Hundreds of these large, graceful, cartilaginous elasmobranch fish congregate to ravine themselves in the plankton-rich waters. Hanifaru in Baa Atoll, is an uninhabited island of the Maldives with a small, enclosed, underwater bay approximately the size of a football field, locally known as ‘Vandhumaafaru Adi’. In this confined space you’ll get as many as 200 mantas, which may span 3.5m across, feeding for 2 to 4 hours. These sheer numbers change the natural feeding patterns and are replaced by feeding frenzy behavior which results in a circus performance.
